Raiders armed with a gun and a crowbar have robbed a site in Harborough. The Protheroes site was targeted at just before midnight on Friday March 13 and cash was stolen.

Two men entered the site and demanded money. One of them was seen to be carrying a silver object, believed to be a handgun and the other was carrying a crowbar. A quantity of cash was stolen from the till as well as a handbag from a member of staff. The men are described as wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.

DS Dan Granger, who is investigating the incident, said: "We are keen to speak to the drivers and passengers of three vehicles seen on the garage forecourt around the time of the robbery. I would urge the occupants of a light-coloured Seat Ibiza, a dark-coloured Peugeot and a blue Ford Mondeo taxi, who may have witnessed the incident and be able to provide vital information, to contact police. Did you see a light blue or possibly silver Ford Focus pulling onto the forecourt or driving in the area at the time? We're appealing for anyone who may have any information about this incident or remembers any suspicious activity in the area at the time to get in touch."

Anyone with information should contact DS 1577 Dan Granger on 0116 2222222.
