ARMED ROBBERY IN MANTON

01/04/2009

A site in Manton was the subject of an armed robbery when two masked men threatened a cashier with a gun. They stole the till and its contents from Bristol Street Filling Station on Retford Road. Armed police attended and recovered the gun, which is now being subjected to forensic examination.

Det Insp Dave Sinclair said, "This type of offence is very rare in our area and I will pursue all lines of enquiry to ensure we bring those to justice,".

The first man is described as white, 6ft tall and of light to heavy build. He was wearing a light blue top, jeans and brown shoes. The second is described as shorter, aged between 20-40 and of similar build. He was wearing a dark blue top and jeans. They may have been carrying a black hold-all bag and both were wearing balaclava-style masks.

Anyone who has information should call Worksop Police on 01909 500999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
