ARREST IN BURSLEM & ETRURIA ROBBERIES

A man has been arrested in connection with two robberies at petrol stations.

A raider entered the Shell Festival Service Station on Cobridge Road, Etruria, around 7.55pm on Sunday, March 15. He threatened a cashier with a knife and demanded cash, but fled the scene empty-handed.

Around 20 minutes later police were called to the Crystal Filling Station, on Scotia Road in Burslem. A male had entered the site, again armed with a knife, and threatened the cashier. He escaped with a quantity of cash.

A 23-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been arrested on suspicion of robbery, and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
